I stated in my previous post that Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple was relocated from the coastal city of Chennai when the Portuguese raised their hands.Similarly, the temple Kalikambal was also relocated from the seashore when the British built Fort St. George in 1640. Though God has been relocated to different places, the devotion is unchanged. The rajagopura of the temple built in 1983, is shown in the above image. 
About Temple

When Kaligambal resided in the coastal area, she called as Chenniyamman as the name of the city came as Chennai. We can understand here, there are a lot of cities and district names are separated by the deity of the temple as Tiruvannamalai, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram etc. Kamakshi is worshipped as Kalikambal and Lord Shiva is worshipped as Kamateswarar Both blessed their devotees from Thambu Chetty George Town to the universe. Temple Deities 
The three thousand years old temple includes deities of Vinayaga, Brahma, Durga, Anjaneyar, Virat Viswa, ParaBrahma, Nataraja, Navagrahas and Murugan with his consorts Valli, Devasena. Goddess Kaligambal was in the form of aggressive when she resided on the seashore and formed as Shanta Swaroopa after being relocated. The Temple should have been built by the Viswakarma community and it blesses the devotees who need childbirth and marriage interruption. Goodess kaligambal also blesses the people who need to achieve in the field of art. Actor Rajinikanth is a frequent visitor to the temple. Yathumagi nindrai Kali the sentence was written by Subramania Bharathi he visiting visited this temple. Kaligambal temple is one of the most prominent temples in Chennai, which leads to writing memories in your travel list.
