Boat Mail express was connecting me to Rameswaram from Chennai. When I crossed the Pamban bridge, I realized that's the beauty of the island. The train was very slow-moving on the Pamban bridge. I felt love with crossing the Indian ocean, I marked myself this is the most beautiful place in South India and knew a dangerous railway bridge in the world. Then I realized the bridge is not only stand with the support of pillars but also blessings of lord Rama who deity of Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameswaram. At that time I wanted to see the Ramanathasamy temple, finally I reached the Rameswaram station. I was hurrying to see the temple connected with Ramayana. I was excited to see the deity of Lord Rama. Asking way to the temple and I reached there. The above image shows a temple tower of the Ramanathaswamy that, welcomed me.
Story of the Place
I realized Ramayana after I went there because the temple connected with Indian epic Ramayana then I came to know that Rameswaram name derived from the Lord Rama and knew the history of Ramanathasamy temple behinds that Lord Rama had Brahmahathi Dosha after killed Ravana so he wanted to build the temple by the advice of Maharishi inorder Rama sent Hanuman to get linga from Kailash. Hanuman did not return in a particular time so Sita started to accumulate sand from her hands which formed as linga that has been worshipping by devotees until today it's the presence of Ramanathaswamy temple. The deity of Kasi Viswanathar in the temple was brought by Lord Hanuman from Kailash. Initially, The temple was the small straw roof, later it was developed in the 12th century. The world-famous third corridor constructed in the 18th century by Muthuramalinga Sethupathy. Each and every corridor has 30 feet height and entire corridors length 3850 feet of 1212 corridors which give in above image. The temple has a lot of deities which are Ramanatha Swamy, Parvathavarthini, Viswanathar, Visalakshi, Anjaneyar, Natarajar, Jothirlingam, Pallikonda Perumal, Vigneshwarar, Vajreshwarar, Mahalakshmi and 63 Nayanars. There are 64 tirthas found in Rameswaram, 22 of them inside the temple. Every tirtha of the temple gives different benefits to the devotees. The 22 well thirthas are Mahalakshmi Tirtha, Savithri Tirtha, Gayathri Tirtha, Saraswathi Tirtha, Sethu Madhava Tirtha, Gandhamadana Tirtha, kavatcha Tirtha, Gavaya Tirtha, Nala Tirtha, Neela Tirtha, Sanku Tirtha, Sakkara Tirtha, Brahmahathi Vimochana Tirtha, Sooriya Tirtha, Chandra Tirtha, Ganga Tirtha, Yamuna Tirtha, Gaya Tirtha, Siva Tirtha, Sadyamirtha Tirtha, Sarva Tirtha, Kodi Tirtha. These tirthas names are associated with characters of Ramayana. and I took a holy bath in 22 tirthas of Ramanathasamy temple. I believe that everyone will be.
Analysis of the Place
The Lord Rama came with Sita by Pushpaka vimana and he explained about her rescued from Ravana. When the Pushpaka vimana came above the ocean, Rama told to Sita that he made the bridge with Hanuman and Vanaras which called as today Rama Setu bridge and Rama said that the devotees who take holy bath in this ocean, they remove their sin. That's Agni Tirtha!  Today lakhs and lakhs of devotees are taken holy bath during no moon day and other auspicious days. When I was taking bath in Agni Tirtha and saw above I felt myself that Rama and Sita should have crossed this way. Rameswaram is only Shiva temple in Char Dham places of India. Rameswaram is included in Jyotirlinga temples of India. This is the place that we cannot see in other places of India. The lunch of the Murugan mess still in my tongue, The tirthas of the temple still with my soul, The Pamban bridge I travelled still in my heart. The deity of the Ramanathasamy temple in Rameswaram still in my eyes.
